To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird is about an attorney named Atticus who has two children named Jem and Scout. He is standing up for a black man in court who was convicted of rape. In the town of Maycomb, most of the community keeps slaves and don't think of them as equals. Along with the children's summer friend Dill, they become fascinated with learning about their recluse neighbor, Boo Radley. In the court case, Atticus is going up against one of their neighbors, Bob Ewell. After the verdict Mr. Ewell was out to get Atticus because of how he humiliated him on trial. The children begin to worry about the safety of their father and themselves. Mr. Ewell made an attempt to kill the children but Boo had been watching and stabbed him. When the children thought of this man as being a crazy person who wouldn't associate with the outside world he turned out to be their protector and saved their lives.

To Kill a Mockingbird is an amazing story and is also one of the best books I have ever read. The characters portray certain qualities and characteristics that help make the book more relatable to the reader. I really liked all the symbolism and themes that were woven throughout the story, especially the mockingbird representing innocence within different characters. I would hope that anyone who is interested in a captivating fiction story would be willing to try out this book and hopefully enjoy it as much as I did.
