Nowadays, we are all living in a competitive world; people fight and compare each other in order to survive. If people want to survive in this dog eat dog world, they need to be stronger and more confident to accomplish this. Everyone has their own dramatic events that have happened in their lives. They go through it and experience it. In the history of literature, there are many classical masterpieces that are immortal, like Jane Eyre, that have such a deep and wonderful meaning. It shows human nature as a cross between good and evil through the stories and the characters in the book. It also shows a true and pure love between people.

The story is written in the first person narrative. The main character in the book is a girl named Jane Eyre. Jane didn’t have a happy childhood because her parent passed away when she was still a little child. She had to move to her aunt’s house and live amongst her aunt and cousins. But her aunt was not good for her and her cousins also bullied her all the time. In this difficult situation, Jane stayed at her aunt’s house for 10 years after which her aunt placed her in an orphanage. At the orphanage, she met a person who was to become a very important person in her life. This person was Helen Burns. Jane had a short but happy time with Helen, but sadly Helen died from a disease. She stayed in the orphanage for six years as a student and then another two as a teacher. Eventually, she left the orphanage. She went to a manor as a teacher and met the owner, her future husband, Mr. Rochester. Jane fell in love with Mr. Rochester. And after all her difficult experiences prior to her employment at the manor, she can finally look forward to a better life. She and Mr. Rochester finally get married and have a happy life together. Jane was a tenacious girl. She was not afraid to resist fate. She was also a good girl, always helping other people and bringing love to them. All the things that she did showed a woman’s dignity and love. Although the process of her life was not smooth, she was still able to overcome all the difficulties in her life. She had lost her family, her friends and her love but she never gave up. What she put out in the world, she eventually got it returned to her. Jane got a happy life in the end.

This book is not only a story about a girl who had a difficult life; it is a story is about the equality of men and women and how a woman dared to fight for her position. I think this is a great book for people to read, it shows the self-esteem, self-respect and self-reliance of new era woman. And the ideas in this book shows that the mutual understanding and respect between people. Jane Eyre really brought me a good memory and understanding for the faith of my life.
